Jan Aceti from the light plant shares information about how electricity is transferred to houses

This week employees from Concord Municipal Light Plant visited 3rd students at all three elementary schools. The presentation began with animations explaining  how electricity is made and transferred to their homes.  Several Line Men volunteered their time to come in and talk to the students about  what they do to help keep electricity flowing. The line men also shared the types of tools they need in order to do their jobs. The students were particularly impressed with their gloves and the “bucket”.  Students also had opportunities to ask Line Men and Engineers questions about power outages, being afraid of touching electric wires and other aspects of working at the light plant and substations.
